Weight Loss FAQ

 
 
It's taken me about 3 years to reach these goals but I am down about 90lbs and went from a size 20 to a size 8!! Here is a bit of info about how I did it.
 
 
 
How did you lose the weight?
 
I started off slow by joining the YMCA and taking classes. I attribute to the majority of my initial weight loss to Body Pump. It gave me the stamina and strength to do other things like spin class! Over the years I did more and more and lost a large chunk of weight when I started training for my first half marathon. I now, body pump, spin and run!
 
When I first started I stuck to a 1500 calorie a day diet. It didn't matter where the calories came from as long as I was in the realm. I quickly realized that I could eat so much more and fell fuller if I stuck to clean eating!! I have followed a clean eating plan since and have recently joined the craze of IIFYM.
 
 
How often do you exercise?
 
I always try to get at least 5 days of exercise in a week. I thrive on it and can always tell when my energy is down from not exercising. I rotate between heavy lifting, running and cross training.
 
 
What types of food do you eat?
 
 
I always try to eat clean but that doesn't always happen. I like sugar as much as everyone else and will often slip (were all human)  but here is a sample daily meal plan I might follow.
 
 
BREAKFAST:
One egg one egg white scramble w/ sautéed spinach. Topped with a couple slices avocado and Pico
Coffee (always and will always drink coffee) I LOVE!! With a splash of unsweetened vanilla almond milk.
 
Lunch:
Salad with brown rice, grilled chicken, avocado, tomatoes and topped with fresh pico as dressing
 
Dinner:
Smoked mahi mahi (hubs has a smoker....mmmm) quinoa salad and fresh green beans and of course you gotsta have the vino!!! only a couple days a week ;)
 
Water, water, water and more water!!
